"Within the framework of the rearmament with new samples of weapons and military equipment in 2016, one regimental set of the long-range S-400 Triumph air defense missile system and two battalion sets of the Pantsir-S short-to-medium range air defense gun-missile system have been delivered to the air defense formations of the Aerospace Forces. The delivery of one more regimental set of the S-400 Triumph air defense missile system is planned to an air defense unit of the Aerospace Forces in the Moscow region by the end of the current year,” TASS reported quoting the press service as saying.
The Aerospace Forces currently have in service four air defense missile regiments armed with the S-400 Triumph air defense missile systems that are on combat duty.
The Russian Defense Ministry has also concluded a contract on the supply of 20 new BTR-82A armored vehicles by the end of the current year.
