The 270-tonne vessel, which has been named ICGS Aryaman, is part of an INR 15 billion (USD228 million) contract awarded to CSL in 2010 to build 20 FPVs for the coastguard. The vessels are intended to be deployed on maritime surveillance and constabulary duties.

According to IHS Jane's Fighting Ships, Aadesh-class vessels are 50 m in length, have a beam of 7.6 m, and a draught of 1.7 m. The platforms are powered by three MTU 16V 4000 M90 diesel engines driving three Rolls-Royce Kamewa 71S3 waterjets.
